As a choreographer, I currently explore elements of empathy, collective intelligence and the physicality of environments, both natural and constructed, as the undercurrent of my dance making.
Nuanced physicality and movement tasks construct relationships where performers exist individually, but as part of the larger whole. The emerging themes arrive through the groups’ collective intelligence where the collective experience shapes visualizations into myths and truths of socially resonate gestures.
I make work in theaters, but prefer public/alternative spaces. I use sculptural components such as objects, physical structures, or projections to construct environments, magnifying the human body’s relationship to environment and environment’s imprint on the body.
